What FamTrust is

FamTrust is a household account-access letter: one person prepares a clear, current picture of where the money lives and how to get to it, so the people they trust can step in if they ever need to. It is not a will, not financial advice, and not a net-worth dashboard — just the practical “here’s how our finances are organized” note your family would otherwise have to piece together.

Who sees what

The author decides what appears in the letter. Recipients are invited by email and see only what the author has chosen to share — per category, anywhere from “an account exists here” to full names, balances, and access details.

Plaid connects accounts read-only for convenience, but the author decides which accounts are in scope and at what depth. Nothing is shared that the author hasn't chosen.

Security & privacy

• Your data is encrypted at rest.
• Plaid access is read-only — FamTrust can never move money or initiate transactions.
• The author can revoke a recipient's access at any time.
